In a Cell based church, Cell leaders meet regularly for mutual sharing, encouragement and learning. This meeting will be facilitated by Cell Pastors working together with Cell Leaders in the Cell Leaders’ meetings. Just as Cells are not hierarchies of leaders and the led, but communities of disciples who are learning, so the Leaders’ meetings become learning communities where each person learns from the others. Leaders and deputy leaders are given ongoing support, and learn to support one another.
For example, things like these may arise in the Leaders’ meeting:
Cell is no revolution for Seasalter, a church which had 14 small groups with a total adult membership of 80 at the time of the Autumn 2005 Survey.
It is, however, a significant, even radical development, which honours the sense of community created by God in his church, and seeks to build further on it. Jesus said ‘What the Father does, the Son also does’. (John 5:19).
We now have the ideal opportunity to build the church, in faith, in response to what our Father is already doing.
