Sunday Groups

groups

Children are an important group in church life and we continue to develop our children's ministry by helping them, whatever their level, to learn about and experience the love and grace of God. We aim to do all we can to help children enter a full relationship with Jesus by giving them the opportunity to hear, receive and respond to what God wants to offer them through His word in the Bible. We want them to learn about his life and teachings, and the Christian life in a friendly environment. We also aim to have fun in the process!

Our children are not just our future - they are also our present. Here at St Alphege we are pleased to have such a large and growing number of children as part of our family. To co-ordinate childrens activities and groups within St Alphege we have a Children & Families Minister.

During the 10:45 all-age service there is provision for all ages, with children and young people beginning the service in the church and going out to their relevant groups at the appropriate time.

Sunday Alfies

sunday alfies

Sunday Alfies is for children (from nursery age to reception year). We meet for fun whilst their carers join the main church service. The main aim is to enjoy ourselves whilst learning about the bible through stories, singing, games and lots of gluing and sticking!

Flames

sunday alfies

Flames is a lively group (School years 1,2 and 3) where Christian Values are explored in a fun-filled way, through bible stories, games and craft activities with lots of interaction and opportunities for discussion.

Energise

sunday alfies

Energise is for children in school years 4, 5 and 6 and are a bright, lively, enthusiastic and 'loud' part of our church family.

We hope the children will have fun learning about the Bible and the life of Jesus in an exciting and creative way through drama, artwork, games discussions and being together. Our hope is that the children and leaders coming will be able to experience and develop both a personal and shared faith together in a relaxed and fun way.
